Small Groups meet Nationally and Locally
Each week in Washington, D.C. members of the Senate and members of the House of Representatives meet together informally in small groups in the spirit of Jesus of Nazareth. That is to say they put aside their political differences and come together to build personal relationships with God and with each other through fellowship and prayer. The same thing happens each week in Tallahassee with members of our Florida state congress.
Some people believe Jesus was just a prophet. Others believe He was a teacher. Some people believe He was the Messiah. He is revered by most all religions who agree that He inspired us to love one another. It is in this spirit the small groups meet.
Small groups can accomplish great things. A group may meet just for fellowship and prayer or it may take on a project.
We’ll Help You Join or Start a Group
Meet in Person or Online
Here in Sarasota, we encourage the formation of small groups – ideally 8 to 10 people. A group can start with just two people. Groups usually meet over a meal at breakfast or lunch. Groups can be for men, women or co-ed. Groups can be business leaders, elected officials, or anyone. All faiths are welcome to attend – meeting in the spirit of Jesus of Nazareth.
We can help you start a group. Our members will attend a few initial meetings to get you started. You can pick the time and location. We have some guidelines from our friends at the International Foundation in Washington, D.C. on how to conduct a group that we will be happy to share with you.
