CELEBRATING PRAYER and UNITY on the SUNCOAST!
Historically, the leadership of our nation has turned to Almighty God for strength and guidance.
It is in this spiritual tradition that we hold the annual Sarasota Prayer Breakfast. Through our attendance at this event, we seek to demonstrate the dedication of our nation, our community and ourselves to God and our faith under His guidance.
This breakfast is patterned after the National Prayer Breakfast held annually in Washington, D.C. Inaugurated in 1952 by leadership in the United States Senate and House of Representatives, these events are now held annually in nearly every state, numerous cities, and countries around the world.
This is a community gathering meeting in the spirit of Jesus of Nazareth. People of all faiths are invited to attend. The program consists of several presentations, such as reading scriptures and leading prayers by community leaders. There is a musical performance and an opportunity to fellowship over a meal.
The highlight of the prayer breakfast is a message by a guest speaker. In recent years the speakers have been U.S. Senators, U.S Congressmen, Foreign Ambassadors, and State Representatives, many of whom have participated in the National Prayer Breakfast held annually in our nation’s capital.
