Here in Sarasota, our local prayer breakfast has been patterned after the National Prayer Breakfast. You can get information about attending the National Prayer Breakfast through your state capitol.
The National prayer breakfast was first held in Washington, D.C in 1953. It is hosted by members of the US Congress, designed to be a forum for the political, social, and business elite to assemble and build relationships. Every U.S. president since Dwight D. Eisenhower has participated in this annual event.
Historically the prayer breakfast has been held on the first Thursday in February at the Conrad Hilton in Washington, D.C. It was attended by some 3,500 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries. During the week of the prayer breakfast there are also a variety of meetings, conferences and seminars to attend.
2025 National Prayer Breakfast
The National Prayer Breakfast will be held on February 6, 2025. Members of Congress will meet on Capitol Hill and be joined by the President for this annual event. Other attendees from all 50 states and invited guests and dignitaries from around the world will gather together at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where key parts of the program will be live streamed.
Honorary Co-Chairs for the 2025 prayer breakfast are Senator Maggie Hasan, and Senator Roger Marshall.
