Overview
The National Prayer Breakfast is traditionally held on the first Thursday in February hosted by
members of Congress. In recent years the event has been held at the Capitol Building. At the same
time the event is live broadcast to the ballroom at the Conrad Hilton in Washington, D.C. where some
3,500 invited guests including representatives from over 100 countries have come to participate.
The president of the United States is always an honored guest. Sometimes the President attends the
prayer breakfast at the Capitol along with members of Congress, and sometimes the President
attends the event with the guests at the Hilton.
During the prayer breakfast week, invited guests have the opportunity to participate in a variety of
meetings, conferences and seminars. It is a great time of prayer and fellowship – seeking God’s
guidance for our Country.
